Muller confirmed to join the Major League of America (MLS)
On the afternoon of July 26, 2025, German star Thomas Mueller officially announced through his personal social media platform that he will end his career in Europe and switch to the Major League of America (MLS) to start a new chapter in his life.
In a video posted by him, Mueller said: "I will go to the United States to play football and cross the other side of the ocean. I am still passionate about football, which is why I decided to continue my career. I hope to make the most of this opportunity. Although I am no longer in Europe and no longer participate in the Champions League, I am still full of expectations."
Mueller did not disclose which MLS team he would join. It is reported that the Cincinnati FC has priority negotiation rights with the Bayern meritorious striker, but Mueller himself prefers to join more well-known teams, such as Miami International (played by Messi, Busquets and Alba) or Los Angeles FC.
In addition, the Los Angeles Galaxy, which owns Marco Reus, is also considered one of Mueller's potential next homes. It is worth mentioning that Mueller reached a cross-season contract with the MLS club, which will cover the 2025 and 2026 seasons, showing his long-term commitment to this transfer.
Muller will become the 19th German player to land on MLS. He admitted that leaving Bayern and going to a foreign country was a huge change for him and his family: "This is my first time playing football abroad in my life, and I am also very curious about what life will be like when I am no longer a Bayern player."
