Manchester United: Manchester United needs to buy Amad as a substitute. If he plays in the African Cup of Nations, no one may be able to replace him.

On November 10, the "Manchester Evening News" published an article saying that as the African Cup of Nations is about to start, Manchester United's right wing-back problem will reappear.

Manchester United's recovery in October was largely due to the outstanding performance of some stars. Casemiro's performance in the midfield position was impressive. He improved in the Europa League last season, but few people thought that he would become the team's first choice in the midfield when all members are healthy this season.

Mbemo was one of the few United players to perform consistently before the unbeaten run began, however, he stepped it up a notch in October and was deservedly named Premier League Player of the Month. His good form is partly down to his growing partnership with Ahmad. Amad has been a firm favorite among Manchester United fans since returning from a loan spell at Sunderland.

Ten Hag's dismissal in October 2024 can be said to be the best thing that could happen to the winger, who has gone from being ignored by the Dutch coach for a long time to becoming one of Manchester United's most important players.

The additions of Mbemo and Cunha in the summer soon made it clear that Ahmad would be mainly used as a right wing-back. Although he was listed as one of the two No. 10 players in the game against Tottenham, after Amorim took over, Ahmad frequently switched between the right wing-back and the No. 10 position.

Some people have worried about whether Ahmad, as a natural attacker, can play the role of wing-back, and whether he needs to introduce new players. While Amad did struggle defensively on the wing, overall his performance was excellent. He admits that he is still working on improving his defensive abilities, but on the offensive end, Amad is a huge threat and his combination with Mbemo adds a new dimension to United's tactics.

But trouble is coming. Both Mbemo and Amad will soon leave the team to participate in the African Cup of Nations. Mbemo has performed very well this season, but Mount has shown the potential to take over his role. But at the same time, it is difficult to see who will replace Amad. Manchester United has other options in that position, but neither Dalot nor Mazrawi can provide the offensive threat that Amad brings.

In a little more than a month, the forgotten concern about who can play right wing-back will resurface again. While this is only temporary, it will serve as a helpful reminder to Amorim that United need an attacking right wing-back backup for Amad.
