The report added that Messi is currently considering participating in a more competitive league six months before Argentina's World Cup defense journey begins. Negotiations for renewal with Miami International have also been put on hold.

However, a source close to Miami International told Italian transfer expert Romano, "Messi's contract will expire at the end of 2025. The situation is that both parties are interested in continuing the relationship and are taking the necessary actions to achieve this with the right mindset."
