June 3 TheAthletic reported that AC Milan intends to sign Real Madrid veteran Modric without signing.
The 39-year-old Croatian international announced the end of his 14-year career in Real Madrid last month. He has not decided on his next stop yet and is expected to trigger a competition between multiple teams.
Since joining from Tottenham in 2012, Modric has played in 591 games for Real Madrid and scored 43 goals, winning 26 trophies, including 4 La Liga titles and 6 Champions League titles.
After winning the Champions League with Real Madrid in the 2017-18 season, he broke the Messi monopoly with his core performance as the runner-up in the World Cup in Russia, becoming the first Golden Globe player to be non-Messi or Ronaldo after Kaka in 2007.
