ESPN comments on Maduaike transfer: Arsenal B-, Chelsea C+, the transaction is intriguing and surprising

July 19th Arsenal officially announced the signing of winger Maduaike from Chelsea. ESPN gave the rating of the transfer as usual. Buyer Arsenal was scored B-, and seller Chelsea was scored C+.

ESPN Review: From all perspectives, this transfer is intriguing. Maduaike has been constantly improving his strength over the past two years and now seems to be fully capable of playing for top clubs. However, just as he took this step, he was approved to leave the team, and Chelsea's signing of Gittens this summer has not yet reached the same level of maturity.

Arsenal does need a winger, but it feels more appropriate to introduce a left winger who can play right winger, rather than doing the opposite. Maduaike originally looked to be in an explosive period, but he either accepted the failure to compete with Saka on the right to start or chose to play the left wing he was not very optimistic about. This choice is a bit surprising, and there are certainly more unknown details to be revealed. In view of this, the transfer is temporarily given a low rating and wait for the development of the situation.
