May 29th Chelsea legend John Terry recently accepted an interview with talkSPORT radio and talked about the difficulties he encountered in his job search.

Terry said: "I left Villa because of family reasons. I went to accompany my family. Then I returned to work and submitted several resumes. The positions I applied for were not the Premier League or even the Championship level, but in lower-level leagues."

"In fact, Sunderland was one of them. The meeting went very smoothly. Compared with the interviews at several other clubs, the communication with the Black Cats' senior executives was the most satisfying. But we had differences about the excessive fancy playing style and the reasons for their dismissal of the former head coach. At that time, they were the team in Europe that had the most mobile phones."

"That happened a few years ago, and in the end they rejected me on the grounds of 'inexperience'. This was me. The unified feedback received in three important interviews. But I led Chelsea for 22 years as captain, served as England captain, and worked with many top coaches. I knew what I could contribute, and I never expected to become the Premier League coach overnight. "

"I accumulated practical experience when assisting Dean Smith at Aston Villa, and obtained all coaching qualification certificates. Everything is ready and waiting for opportunities. It is frustrating to hear such an evaluation."

Terry admitted that he is currently only focusing on part-time jobs at Chelsea Youth Training Academy: "Chelsea is my club, and it will always be."

But Terry also admitted that this identity may hinder the development of his coaching career.

In an interview with talkSPORT in March this year, Terry revealed: "I still have the dream of taking charge of Chelsea's first team one day. But without grassroots training, this dream may be difficult to realize. So realistically speaking, this opportunity will not come to me."
