In the just-concluded 25th round of the 2025 China League One, after a fight with our player Zhang Zhixiong, Guangxi Pingguo team player Mr. Samuel Asamoa left the court due to injury and went to the hospital for treatment. In response to this, Chongqing Tonglianglong Football Club and player Zhang Zhixiong expressed his most sincere apology.

We know that athletes’ health is above everything else. We were very worried and regretful to witness Mr. Asamoa’s injury, just like all friends who care about him. After the incident, the club management had contacted Guangxi Pingguo Football Club as soon as possible and expressed deep condolences to all members of its club and Mr. Asamoa's family. After the game, the club management and player Zhang Zhixiong made a special trip to the hospital to visit Mr. Asamoa and expressed his apology and concern in person.

We sincerely wish Mr. Samuel Asamoa to recover soon, get rid of the injuries and gallop again on the green field he loves. Football carries passion and dreams, and maintaining respect and friendship on the field is our common responsibility.

According to previous reports from Guangxi Pingguo Football Club, in the match with Chongqing Tonglianglong Football Club on October 5, Pingguo Football Club No. 10 player Asamoa suffered a malicious foul while protecting the ball with his back, resulting in serious head and neck injuries. After a detailed diagnosis by medical expert team and the hospital, Asamoa's neck C2 to C6 vertebrae were misaligned and fractured, and a C5 and C6 vertebrae strangle (i.e., the fifth cervical vertebrae fracture) was formed. It was accompanied by nerve compression and there was a risk of high-level paraplegia. He would miss all remaining games of the season, and his career may also be seriously affected.

In addition, in the same game, Huang Wei, a player from Pingguo Football Club, was injured and unable to get up after confronting the opponent's players in the fight. After diagnosis, Huang Wei was cortical fractured in the lower segment of the right tibia and fibula, and the fracture end was separated and misaligned.
