Chenggong District Youth Campus Football Competition Ended

Spring City News After a week of fierce competition, the 2025 Chenggong District Youth Campus Football Competition ended on July 12.

This event is sponsored by Chenggong District Education and Sports Bureau and hosted by Chenggong District Football Association. 28 primary and secondary schools (including municipal schools) in the district form teams to participate. The event has five major categories: U8 "Seedling Group" (Grade 1 and 2) to U14 "Star of Hope" (Grade 2) to achieve full coverage of primary schools to junior high schools. There were 56 participating teams and 940 athletes, with a total of 140 competitions being held.

This competition has achieved new breakthroughs in improving popularity, systematic construction, professional guarantee, and accelerating talent reserves. By establishing a five-level training echelon of "Seedlings-Green Seedlings-Strength Seedlings-Star of Progress-Star of Hope", we will open up the connection channel between primary and secondary schools. During the competition, traditional strong teams such as Chenggong No. 2 Primary School, Normal University Affiliated Primary School, and Kunming Engineering Affiliated Chenggong School continued to lead the way. New forces such as Qicai Yunnan Primary School and Chenggong No. 5 Primary School continued to emerge. Yuhua School Affiliated to Kunming Engineering, Qingshui Primary School and other schools formed teams to participate in the competition for the first time. In every showdown, the players went all out and fought to the end.

The relevant person in charge of the Education and Sports Bureau of Chenggong District said that in the next step, the development of campus football in the entire district will be promoted through the work of venue guarantee, coach training, event upgrading, seedling plan, etc. At present, the three five-a-side football stadiums in Huijing Garden, Chenggong District will be upgraded and renovated, and will be used as the Chenggong District Youth Football Youth Training Base to provide venue support for the construction of the entire district’s echelon. The District Education and Sports Bureau plans to implement the weekend interschool football league and establish a normal competition mechanism. At the same time, it plans to rely on the new sports school in Chenggong District to form a district-level youth football training center, form district-level echelons of all age groups, and vigorously cultivate young football talents.
