Along the trajectory of Stefanos Zimas, Charalan Persian Costalus is ready to set a new record for transfer fees for Greek players. The 18-year-old midfielder made his mark in Greek football last season and quickly became the focus of attention. According to Greek media, Costalus, who currently plays for Olympiacos Piraeus, is preparing for a transfer to Premier League team Brighton and Hof Albion, which may write a new chapter in Greek football history.

Once Costalus put on the "Seagull" robe, he will fight alongside his compatriot Stefanos Zimas, who also plans to join Brighton in the summer. Costalus' market value has soared to €12 million, which began in August 2024 when he made his career debut for Olympiacos, quickly becoming one of the 10 youngest players in team history. With his outstanding performance of scoring 8 goals in 22 league games, Costalus not only consolidated his starting position, but also attracted the attention of many German giants including Bayern Munich, Dortmund and Borussia Mönchengladbach.

However, according to the latest news from Greek media, Brighton and his coach Fabian Herzeller seem to have taken the lead in the battle. If Costalus wants to recruit him, Brighton will have to pay a basic transfer fee of 35 million euros, and with additional terms, this number may climb to 40 million or even 45 million euros. Olympiacos will also enjoy a 10% share of Costalus' future transfer fee. If the deal is completed, Costalus will become the most expensive transfer in Greek football history with 36 million euros when Costatinos Manoras joined Naples in 2019.

followed closely by Zimas, who was also favored by Brighton. In order to sign the young talent from Nuremberg, Brighton paid 26.5 million euros. Costalus will become the third young face to join Brighton after Tom Watson of England's newly promoted Sunderland and Yu Doyong of South Korea's Daejeon Hanwha, and both of them are under 20 years old. Brighton has established an outstanding reputation in discovering and cultivating young players in recent years, and Moises Kessedo's growth is the best example. Since joining for €5 million in 2021, Kesedo's market value has soared to €75 million, eventually moving to Chelsea at a staggering price of €116 million. Costalus may become another dark horse in the training system of Brighton's youth talent. Since the 2020/21 season, 17 young players have achieved career leaps through this platform, with a total transfer fee of up to 203 million euros.
