After joining for two weeks, Duran was absent from training and was warned that he was "at your own risk"

Former Aston Villa forward John Duran joined Fenerbahce for only two weeks and had a conflict with coach Jose Mourinho. The 21-year-old striker, who came on loan from Saudi Nasr, was scolded by Mourinho for "disrespectful to the team" for absent from pre-season training and was warned to face punishment.

Duran scored 12 goals in 18 games during his six months in the Saudi League, and then chose to shorten his career in the Middle East and join Fenerbahce on loan - he once publicly stated that being able to work with Mourinho, who won the Champions League two, is an "unrefutable opportunity." However, this expectation fell into vain on the first day of pre-season training.

Mourinho criticized mercilessly in an interview: "This is an act of disrespect. The team has clear rules, and anyone who violates it will bear the consequences. Let's talk when he appears - if he will show up."

According to Turkish media, Duran is expected to return to the team to report in the next few days, but he is likely to be unable to participate in the first preseason match between Fenerbahce and Portuguese team Portimonense on Thursday. For Duran, if he wants to get an opportunity under the "madman", he must repair his relationship with the head coach as soon as possible.

This is not the first time Mourinho has had an open conflict with the player. During his coaching career, he has long been famous for his strict discipline: when he was at Manchester United, he had a dispute with Paul Pogba for his training attitude, which eventually led to the marginalization of the players; when he was coaching Real Madrid, he publicly criticized Kareem Benzema for being "unproactive in running", which triggered long-term conflicts; when he entered the palace with Chelsea, he repeatedly accused Eden Hazard of "not willing to return to defense", and the relationship between the two gradually deteriorated.

Now Duran's "later and early departure" just touches Mourinho's bottom line. For this young forward who is eager to re-prove himself in Europe, this storm may be an important test of his career.
