In the early morning of June 8, the French Open women's singles final ended. No. 2 seed Gao Fu won two sets in a row and reversed the world's No. 1 Sabalenka for the first time in his career, winning the French Open and winning the Grand Slam for the second time.

Gauff, who is only 21 years old, set several records in one game. In the second French Open final of her career, she finally won her first Susan Langlen Cup as she wished. Gof became the first American player to win the French Open singles event since Serena Williams in 2015.

Shortly after Goff won the French Open, former US President Obama posted on social media, congratulating Goff on winning this year's French Open championship. Obama wrote on social media: "Congratulations to Goff for winning the wonderful championship at the French Open - the first American to win the singles in Roland Garros in a decade. You make us all proud."

NBA Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James retweeted Obama's tweet and congratulated Goff. "I agree completely, congratulate my flagbearer companion," James wrote.

James and Gouf jointly served as the opening ceremony of the US delegation at last year's Paris Olympics, and Gouf became the youngest flag bearer in the history of the US Olympics.
