According to domestic media sources, former Xinjiang team's young foreign aid Ashton Hagans was replaced by Australian NBL team Cairns because of visa issues, and he will not appear in the Australian NBL field next season.

Hegens was born in July 1999 and is 26 years old, 191cm tall and weighs 86kg. He was the undraft in the 2020 NBA Draft. In the NBA, Hegens has played in the Minnesota Timberwolves and the Portland Trail Blazers. He made a total of 21 appearances in the NBA regular season, averaging 15 and 2 minutes per game, averaging 3.8 points, 2.1 rebounds, 2.6 assists, 0.5 steals and 0.4 blocks, and 1.5 turnovers and 1.9 fouls. He shot 40.8% from the field, 32% from three-point shooting percentage and 82.4% from free throws. Hegens' performance in the NBA is not ideal. In fact, he also got a lot of playing time and performance opportunities when playing for the Trail Blazers. However, he did not show his talent on both offense and defense. He was unable to continue to stay in the NBA last season.

Last season, Hegens also chose to leave the NBA arena and joined the Xinjiang team. In the CBA regular season last season, Hegens played 43 times for Xinjiang, averaging 23.7 minutes per game, with averaging 7.5 points, 3.3 rebounds, 6.7 assists, 0.3 blocks, and 2.4 turnovers and 2.5 fouls. He shot 43.2%, three-point shooting percentage 27.4%, and free throw shooting percentage 59%. In the playoffs, Hegans played 5 games in total, with averaging 25 minutes per game, with averaging 9.4 points, 3.4 rebounds, 7.8 assists, 1.2 steals, 0.2 blocks, and 0.6 turnovers and 2.6 fouls. He shot 50% from the field, 30% from three-point shooting percentage and 80% from free throws.

Hegens' performance last season can only be considered a sloppy. He does have quite good passing ability and organizational ability. He can also play a key role in the defensive end. He is a very excellent defender, and his personal defense ability can also be maintained at an extremely high level. But the problem is that his performance on the offensive end is actually lacking in character, especially outside the three-point line, he has no stability, and as a foreign player, his scoring ability can be considered at the bottom level. Hegens is a player with very distinct advantages and disadvantages. He is obviously not suitable for use as a first or second foreign player, but there may also be some CBA teams who will take a fancy to other traits on him. Now that he misses the opportunity to join the Australian NBL arena, and has been in the CBA field for a year. He is very familiar with the situation in the CBA. Will Hegens return to the CBA field in the new season?
