Siegel: 76ers want Grimes to stay, and he wants to get a high salary and long appointment

Today, ClutchPoints reporter Brett Siegel posted a post about recent rumors about the league, which wrote about Grimes:

Sources revealed that the Philadelphia 76ers hope to bring Grimes back and arrange for him to play a key role with Teres Maxi in the backcourt.

Grimes played close to the All-Star level in the second half of the 2024-25 season, so he obviously hopes to get a high-paid and long-term contract.

However, the 76ers are currently about $10 million below the first salary cap and about $21.7 million below the second salary cap, which also means that it is not a matter of course to fully meet Grimes' asking price. The Sixers management will adopt a patient strategy - because they know that the restricted free agent market this year's offseason is not active.

Grimes and his team are expected to wait for the progress of Jonathan Kumingga and Gidey to decide on the next step.

However, in order to rise again in the East, the Sixers do need Grimes, and he himself is very clear about this.
