The NBA playoffs were full of drama on Monday night, with the Denver Nuggets and the New York Knicks stoked away wins in their first game against the Oklahoma City Thunder and the Boston Celtics respectively.

Nuggets reversed the victory with a 14-pointer with Aaron Gordon's winning three-pointer, beating the Western Conference No. 1 seed Thunder 121-119.

Earlier that day, the Knicks defeated the Celtics 108-105 in their first game of the Eastern Conference semi-finals, 20 points behind.

The following is the game that happened during the NBA playoffs event night.

Nuggets beat the Thunder in an upset away game, and the Thunder entered the Western Conference semi-finals with a four-game victory over the Memphis Grizzlies, while the Nuggets needed to have a tough battle with the Los Angeles Clippers in Game 7.

The Thunder finished the season with a league-best record of 68-14, becoming the most optimistic NBA championship team for many, while Denver experienced a turbulent season, dismissing head coach Michael Malone a few games before the end of the regular season.

The first game of the two teams series started as many expected, the Thunder dominated and played their own way. The showdown between the two teams is a showdown between the two frontrunners at the MVP Awards this season – Shea Gilgers Alexander of the Thunder and Nikola Jokic of the Nuggets.

The two performed well in Game 1, with Alexander scoring 33 points, 10 rebounds, 8 assists and 2 steals, while Jokic scored 42 points, 22 rebounds, 6 assists and 2 blocks.

Jokic once again performed well in the Nuggets' match against the Thunder.

But in the end, another Nuggets player changed the direction of the game after the Thunder made a controversial decision.

With 11 seconds left in the game, Gilgers Alexander made a dunk, helping the Thunder to gain a three-point lead. The Thunder then decided to foul Gordon with 11 seconds left. The Nuggets forward made both free throws, narrowing the gap to 1 point. Denver's Russell Westbrook then fouled center Chet Homgren with 9.5 seconds left.

Homegren missed both shots, Nuggets guard Christian Braun grabbed the rebound and passed the ball to Westbrook, who assisted Gordon to complete a three-pointer, leaving Oklahoma City with 2.8 seconds to counterattack. When the time came, Thunder guard Jalen Williams tried to shoot a long distance in the half but bounced out after hitting the rebound, triggering a crazy celebration from Denver players.

Godor (No. 32) made a winning goal to help the Nuggets beat the Thunder in Game 1 of the playoffs.

Gordon's winning goal was his second final win in the playoffs this season, after he dunked in Game 4 against the Clippers, completely changing the series' victory.

"We just don't want to miss this moment, don't want to miss this opportunity," Gordon said after the game. "We know that it might be too late if we keep waiting. I'm glad we showed our courage and perseverance, but we're not satisfied." The Nuggets will test the Thunder with Jokic's size and all-around magic, and as the second game in Oklahoma City approaches Wednesday, a historic series could take place between the two powerhouses.

Knicks took advantage of the Celtics' poor shooting performance in history

The Celtics retained the core roster of the 2024 championship team in the preseason, becoming the team that many believe will defend their title this season, while the Knicks reorganized during the offseason with a dream of winning the championship.

The defending champion appeared experienced on this stage in the first game of the two teams' Eastern Conference semi-finals on Monday.

Boston has sent all six main players in just 19 times in 88 games this season, and despite center Christapus Porzingis missing due to illness at halftime, the team still scored a 20-point lead in the second half.

Although the Celtics were leading for a while, their consistent three-point shooting level showed an unprecedented decline. In the first game, the Celtics set two surprising records: the number of three-pointers and the number of shots in the playoffs was the most, and missed 45 shots in the game, and 15 of 60 three-pointers (25% shooting).

The Celtics' reliance on long-distance shooting has brought New York back to the game with two star players Jaylen Brunson and OG Anunobi.

Brunson (No. 11) scored 29 points in the Knicks' overtime win over the Celtics. In the last 23 minutes of the

game, the two scored a total of 39 points, and the Knicks defeated the Celtics 53-30, dragging the game into overtime.

Micar Bridges and Carl Anthony Towns shine in overtime in front of the noisy and hostile TD Garden Arena audience, and the Knicks’ defense successfully blocked the Celtics’ offense.

Brunson and Anunobi scored 29 points respectively, and the Knicks won the first game and the second game will be held Wednesday night.

"We tell each other to keep faith. We must continue to fight, unite and fight. We can't just score 20 points," Brunson said after the game.
