Dallas Mavericks forward Najib Marshall shared his true thoughts about Cooper Flag before the 2025 NBA Draft. The Dallas Mavericks won the NBA draft draw and won the No. 1 pick in the 2025 NBA draft. Therefore, the Mavericks are expected to pick Cooper Flag in the No. 1 pick. Flag, who was only 18 years old, achieved remarkable results with the Duke University basketball team in his freshman season. Mavericks forward Najib Marshall was asked about his thoughts on Flag during his recent visit to the Young Man and The Three podcast.

"To be honest, I like his game," Marshall said of Flag. "Really... he's a winner. I like how he plays basketball... and the dog he has. I'm a dog too, so that's what I really want, he's a dog too. Brother, I'm very excited, I'm looking forward to seeing him grow up and becoming a star in the league. I'm so excited."

Flag had established himself as the number one rookie before the draft. He is a comprehensive player with both offense and defense. The Mavericks have made it clear over the past year that they want to bring in defensive players, so Flag is expected to be a good fit for the team.

Assuming that the Mavericks end up choosing the Duke star, Marshall could actually help Flag. The Mavericks will arrange Flag in the frontcourt, and his position may be similar to Marshall. Flagg will likely start and Marshall will come off the bench, but Najib's senior experience may make him a mentor at Cooper at the NBA level.

Marshall is another player who can do well on both sides of the offense and defense. The Mavericks certainly appreciate his comprehensive skills and will contribute to the team's success in the 2025-26 season.

Considering the possibility of Flag joining the team, the future of Dallas is bright. Unless there is a shocking deal, Cooper Flagg is likely to be part of the Dallas Mavericks in the June 25 NBA draft.
