Maverick Marshall talks about Cooper Flag: I like him, I am a dog, he is also a dog

"To be honest, I like his game," Marshall said of Flag. "Really... he's a winner. I like how he plays basketball... and the dog he has. I'm a dog too, so that's what I really want, he's a dog too. Brother, I'm very excited, I'm looking forward to seeing him grow up and becoming a star in the league. I'm so excited."

Flag had established himself as the number one rookie before the draft. He is a comprehensive player with both offense and defense. The Mavericks have made it clear over the past year that they want to bring in defensive players, so Flag is expected to be a good fit for the team.

Assuming that the Mavericks end up choosing the Duke star, Marshall could actually help Flag. The Mavericks will arrange Flag in the frontcourt, and his position may be similar to Marshall.
