Famous reporter: Before the deal with the Mavericks, the Lakers originally planned to seriously negotiate a thick eyebrow trade during the offseason.

On November 15, famous reporter Brett Siegel wrote an article saying that before the deal with the Mavericks, the Lakers were already preparing to trade for thick eyebrows. They have already let out word to many teams and are preparing to seriously conduct thick eyebrow trade negotiations during the offseason at the end of the 24-25 season.

Sources said that Pelinka and the Lakers began calling some teams in December 2024 due to concerns about Davis' physical condition, level of commitment during the offseason, and his ability to become the team's "boss" after LeBron prepared to leave.

At first, other teams didn't pay much attention to the Lakers mentioning Davis' name in the conversation. They thought it was just Los Angeles trying to trick them. In fact, a source from an Eastern Conference team involved in these conversations about Davis and the Lakers claimed that they initially found these conversations "ridiculous" because they did not believe that Davis could actually be traded.

Of course, the Lakers were just testing the market for Davis at the time and still had no interest in trading him during the 2024-25 season, but they were serious about forming a real trade plan in the offseason. After the Lakers' initial push, at least five teams had more than one conversation with the Lakers to discuss Davis and the details surrounding it.

The Lakers' interest in gauging interest in Davis is very real, and with every conversation they have around the league, the possibility of parting ways with the multi-time All-Star big man this offseason becomes increasingly likely.
