Failure is not Brownie’s choice!

Failure is not James Brownie's career. Two years ago, he had a cardiac arrest due to a congenital heart defect and needed surgery. A 6-inch scar was left in the center of his chest, and the winners and losses on the basketball court showed different ranges.

Lakers guard Gabe Vincent is close to James and he believes the experience is a valuable psychological advantage for his teammates.

Vincent said in an interview with ESPN: "He took the game away from you in this way when he was young, whether it was an injury or something else, and I think it gave him a different appreciation."

"I think it forces you to fight another form of battle. It puts the chip on your shoulders. Everyone needs a chip, but when you resist, it gives you a different belief. You have to climb up the mountain. So, that builds a lot of determination." Although this view helps him to be strong, James said he still feels the lingering physical impact.

"I'm more likely to get sick now," he said. "It's a weird thing, but I think it messed up my immune system a little bit. So, I sometimes have to stay outside and the psychological pressure I'm trying to overcome goes away the week I'm out."

It happened this summer, an illness prevented him from exercising the week before the California Classics. His physical fitness was affected and the team excluded him from the San Francisco opener. He then was limited in his second game.

"Any time you encounter this, it takes a while for your immune system to recover," Lakers athletic trainer Mike Mancias told ESPN. "It's normal for even elite athletes to experience this situation. But because of Brownie's age and condition, this happens faster."

But considering the coaching staff's primary goal for him, his situation seems a bit bad.

"The most important thing for Brownie is that he has to stay elite," Reddick told ESPN. "It's the obstacle he's going in now. If he does, I think he has a chance to be a very good player in the NBA." Redick pointed out that the Miami Heat's No. 6, 205-pound Daveyn Mitchell or his friend and former teammate Indiana Pacers' No. 6, 1, 190-pound T.J. McConnell is an example of how James can be a change in the game type. But some of their skills are two-way ruthless, which requires a huge stamina, and James does not have this physical output.

"Every time they take the ball, they are in the game - whether it's offense or defense - they can influence the game with their performance," Redick said. “With defensive grab points, destructive power, we can go downhill…I think we’ve all seen these amazing shining points of Brownie. To get to the next level, he needs aerobic fitness.” He was released. ...
