Dream Chasing - Green: I have been playing in the No. 5 this season, and I am willing to sacrifice myself for the Warriors

Golden State Warriors were eliminated by the Minnesota Timberwolves with a total score of 1-4 in the Western Conference semi-finals and stopped in the Western Conference semi-finals. After the series, Draymond Green, the Warriors' inside pillar, also talked about the team's future personnel arrangement in the No. 5 position.

When talking about whether the team needs to increase its manpower at the No. 5 position, Green said: No, no, Kevon Looney has been playing for this team for 10 years, and his performance has been very outstanding during this period, and he is also one of the key players we have won the championship in 2022. Trayce Jackson-Davis has also made significant progress over the past two seasons, and I remember whether he was selected at the 52nd or 57th pick, and the progress he has made is amazing. I don't know what will happen next. I think Mike Dunleavy will do a deep dive into everything. I know that whenever the team needs me to play the No. 5 position, I can do it very well. I have been playing No. 5 this year and many people have expressed concerns about this, but I think I have answered these questions. I've been the No. 5 since Jimmy Butler joined the team until this series.

Green continued: I think I'm in good health and I feel really good. I think at the end of this season, I was as good as any other season before, and although I had to play 35 to 37 minutes at the fifth every night for three months in a row to compete for a playoff spot, I knew I could do the job and I could handle that. You can take a look at the entire league. There are indeed some players who are tall, such as Nikola Jokic, Alperen Sengun, Ivica Zubac, and the healthy Joel Embiid. But I will never back down because of this, and if our team decides to let me continue playing the No. 5 position, I will be ready. It's also great if they decide to pursue a certain player. You all know my situation, I always support the decision that is most favorable to this team, and I am always willing to sacrifice myself.

In the NBA regular season this season, Green played a total of 68 games in 82 games, averaging 29.2 minutes per game, averaging 9 points, 6.1 rebounds, 5.6 assists, 1.5 steals and 1 block, and 2.6 turnovers and 3.2 fouls, shooting percentage of 42.4%, three-point shooting percentage of 32.5%, and free throw shooting percentage of 68.7%. In the playoffs, Green played 12 games in total, with averaging 32.4 minutes per game, averaging 9.1 points, 5.5 rebounds, 3.8 assists, 1.4 steals and 0.9 blocks, and 3.7 fouls. He also had 38.9% shooting percentage, 26.7% three-point shooting percentage and 69.2% free throw shooting percentage. Green's performance during the playoffs was actually not ideal. His scoring ability was a mess, his offensive efficiency was extremely poor, and he was unable to maintain sufficient stability for a long time on the offensive end, which largely led to the team's defeat in the second round of the playoffs. I don’t know how the Warriors will arrange the team’s No. 5 position candidate next season. Will Green be the team’s No. 5 position choice?
