Luka Garza, an inside player who just joined the Boston Celtics this summer, was interviewed by the media, and he also talked about the situation of his old club, the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Garza said: I love the time I spent in Minnesota. But what I wanted seemed to find the team in the free market that could really give me a chance to play, and I believe I found this team here. The Celtics are a team with a very long history and are the ever-winning team in the NBA. I have been a super basketball fan since I was a child, and I know the history of the Celtics. So, being able to have the opportunity to wear a Celtic jersey is attractive enough for me. The Celtics have many opportunities now, especially in the frontcourt position. I think the Celtics’ management and coaching team trust me very much, and they all have confidence in my abilities, which is really a great experience for me at this stage. Garza continued: I have been learning some basketball terms and tactics about the team lately. I look forward to expanding the relevant content in the game and being able to make more outside shots on the court. I believe my outside shooting ability is comparable to those of the big guys in the league with the best shooting ability, and I am confident about my ability in this area.

Garza was born in December 1998 and is 26 years old, 208cm tall and weighs 110kg. She is the inside player from the University of Iowa in the 52nd round of the Detroit Pistons in the 2021 NBA Draft. In the NBA regular season last season, Garza played 39 games in 82 games, averaging 5.6 minutes per game, with averaging 3.5 points, 1.4 rebounds, 0.3 assists, 0.2 steals, and 0.1 blocks, as well as 0.3 turnovers and 0.7 fouls, shooting percentage of 49.5%, three-point shooting percentage of 27.8%, and free throw shooting percentage of 68.6%. In the playoffs, Garza played 5 games in total, with averaging 3.7 minutes per game, averaging 2.6 points and 0.6 rebounds, and 0.2 fouls, shooting percentage of 100% and three-point shooting percentage of 100%. In the NBA Development League regular season last season, Garza played 3 times for the Iowa Wolves, a subordinate team of the Timberwolves, with averaging 36 minutes per game, with averaging 36.7 points, 12.3 rebounds, 0.3 steals and 1.7 blocks per game, and 3 turnovers and 2.7 fouls. His shooting percentage was 57.4%, his three-point shooting percentage was 33.3%, and his free throw shooting percentage was 85.7%. Although Garza has not gotten much playing time and performance opportunities in the NBA arena, he is a very good scorer in the NBA Development League and in the NCAA arena. Not only does he have excellent scoring skills at the basket, he also performs quite well in mid- and long-distance shooting. He also has very good passing ability and support ability. He actually has some ability to protect the basket on the defensive end. It’s just that he has considerable problems in his athletic ability and movement speed, which is also an important factor that he may not be able to get a stable playing time. I don’t know if Garza will get more opportunities to perform next season after joining the Celtics.
