Warriors Joe Lacob exchanged Wiggins for Jimmy Butler, the deal was "good value"

Golden State Warriors experienced a huge reversal in the 2024-25 season, and they reached the Western Conference semi-finals where they will play against the Minnesota Timberwolves. Perhaps the decisive moment of the season was the sensational trade the team made with Jimmy Butler. Warriors owner Joe Lacob praised Butler after defeating the Houston Rockets in Game 7.

The former Miami Heat superstar was forced to leave Miami before the trade deadline and he ended up choosing the latter after initially rejecting the Golden State Warriors. While Butler wasn't always a star player in the regular season, he performed well against the Houston Rockets, averaging 21.4 points, 5.8 assists and 5.4 rebounds in five games he participated. Some people are worried about trading Butler, but Lacob is not worried now.

"Yes, there are indeed some concerns (Butler)," Racob said. "But you have to do a good job of analysis and make choices, yes, it's a bit of a risk. But in life, you have to take risks. And he is definitely worth every penny I've paid for him. All I can say is, he's great." Jimmy Butler will lead the Warriors to the Timberwolves

Butler is a controversial player, but when he goes all out, few players in the NBA are more influential than him. Not only is Butler one of the best defensive players in the league, he has proven time and time again that when a team needs to score, he is the one who can play and score. Stephen Curry is excellent in himself, but with a right-hand man like Butler, the Warriors become very dangerous.

Although the series victory over the Rockets was a little harder than initially expected, the Warriors finally completed the mission and successfully advanced to the next round of the playoffs. They will now face Butler's old club, the Minnesota Timberwolves, and you can be sure that the star striker will be full of fighting spirit for this series. The first game will start at 9:30 pm ET on Tuesday, May 6.
