Hupu News on October 9th: In the 2026 World Cup African Qualifiers, the Egyptian national team defeated Djibouti 3-0 in an away game, locking in the top spot in Group A one round ahead of schedule and officially gaining admission to the World Cup.
As of now, 19 teams have been confirmed to qualify for the 2026 World Cup: the United States, Mexico, Canada, Japan, New Zealand, Iran, South Korea, Australia, Uzbekistan, Jordan, Argentina, Brazil, Uruguay, Ecuador, Paraguay, Colombia, Morocco, Tunisia and Egypt.
The South American and Oceania qualifiers have all ended. There are still 6 places to be determined in the African region, and 2 places in Asia have not yet been announced, while the fierce competition in the Central and North American and Caribbean and European divisions is still ongoing.
