Ruben Dias: The Club World Cup is very similar to playing for the national team World Cup, we really want to win the championship

June 15th Manchester City player Ruben Dias looks forward to this summer's Club World Cup.

Dias: It feels very much like participating in the World Cup of the national team, and that kind of energy is similar. Obviously, we know how unusual it is to be part of the World Cup, and it is a special moment. It is a prestigious game, and the participating teams make the event as important as possible. Teams from all over the world have a chance to win games, which will be very exciting. We really want to win the championship. At the end of the day, you just want to win. But this time it will be a different challenge because it is very similar to a typical national team World Cup because you will play against teams from different continents who have a completely different understanding of football.

Adapting to these differences is obviously a critical part of success. We have been to the United States during the preseason before and have really felt the enthusiasm there. It's always special when we have the opportunity to play in front of fans who don't usually have the chance to watch our game live. This adds extra fun to the game. As a Portuguese, I have always been deeply influenced by American culture. Whether it is the music I listen to, the movie I watch, the comedy I like, etc. Of course, there are many beautiful places there too. It would be wonderful to be able to play there.
