September 19th news Since Australia joined the AFC, the AFC team has participated in the AFC Champions League since the 2007 season, with a record of only 65 wins, 69 draws and 104 losses (only counting the AFC Champions League main match and the current AFC elite match, and entering overtime or penalty shootouts is a draw), with a winning rate of only 27.3%. Starting last season, the A-League team's AFC Champions League quota has been reduced to 1.

AUP team abstained three times in the AFC Champions League, 6 outs of the qualifying rounds, 26 group outs (including the league stage of the AFC Champions League Elite), and won 1 championship, 1 runner-up, 1 quarter-finals, and 6 quarter-finals.

This season's AFC Champions League Elite League, Melbourne City finished the first round and lost to Hiroshima San Arrows 0-2 at home, and suffered a black start. Even in the second division of the AFC Champions League, MacArthur lost to the Hong Kong team Tai Po in the first round 1-2.

Although Australia is not small and the A-League has experienced several expansions, until now, there are only 13 A-League teams (including 2 New Zealand teams. With the Western Conference United revoked its A-League license due to financial problems, there are only 12 A-League teams in the new season), and there are no promotions and relegations, and the number and quality of the game are seriously insufficient. In addition, the salary cap, the young and old players, and the long road away, it is difficult for the A-League team to form combat effectiveness in the A-League Championship.
