Liverpool reportedly refuses to sign 24-year-old Manchester United midfielder Ugater

Liverpool reportedly rejected the opportunity to snap up Manchester United midfielder Ugater. The Uruguayan came to Old Trafford from Paris Saint-Germain last summer.

24-year-old Ugat has played 40 games for the Red Devils this season, contributing 2 goals and 3 assists. In the Premier League, Rubem Amorim's team made 26 appearances, scoring 1 goal and assisting once, ranking 14th. Another goal was in the 8 Europa League matches, with the Red Devils playing against Athletic Bilbao in the semi-finals.

Ugat may be a member of Arn Slot's team, and they got the midfielder after their main target, Martin Zubimendi of Real Sociedad, according to TEAMTALK. However, Manchester United showed no interest, and Ugath eventually joined Manchester United for £50.5 million.

On Sunday (April 27), Liverpool beat Tottenham Hotspur 5-1 at home, winning the second Premier League championship in team history four rounds ahead of schedule. This ended Manchester City’s four-year shackles against the league championship, with the Reds’ previous victory in the 2019-20 season affected by COVID-19.

Meanwhile, Ugat and Manchester United are heading towards the worst end in Premier League history after a very dull season, winning only 10 games in 34 games. They failed to win five consecutive games and lost three games.

What are the next plans for Manchester United and Liverpool?

Ruben Amorim and Arn Slott each had very different destinies in their first seasons at Manchester United and Liverpool. While the Reds won the Premier League with four games left, Amorim's side will end the game in the second half.

Although the Reds were poor in the European arena and lost to Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League quarter-finals, Manchester United beat Lyon 7-6 in the Europa League quarter-finals to enter the semi-finals.

They returned to the Premier League, lost to Wolves 0-1 at home, and drew 1-1 with Bournemouth on Sunday. They will face Athletic Bilbao away in the first leg of the Europa League semi-finals on Thursday (May 2).

Meanwhile, Liverpool will play against Chelsea in the league this Sunday (May 4), and they have been eliminated in both European and domestic leagues.
