Chelsea defeated Burnley 2-0 in an away game and got the key three points. It moved from third place in the last round to second place in the standings. After 12 rounds, it has a record of 7 wins, 2 draws and 3 losses, with 23 points. Defending champion Manchester City lost 1-2 to Newcastle United at St. James Park and fell from second to third.
