July 2: Mueller announced that he would leave Bayern Munich at the end of the 2024-25 season. His contract was supposed to expire in June, but was extended by a month in order to allow him to continue participating in the ongoing FIFA Club World Cup. The 35-year-old recently had a conversation with CBS host Kate Scott and responded with a smile when asked if it was possible to transfer to the Premier League Manchester United.

When asked if he would like to play in the Premier League, Mueller said, "Yes, I thought about it, there are moments I think, maybe it would be a good experience."

Kate then asked if he would consider joining Old Trafford, and Mueller replied, "Thinking about it a lot."

However, when he was asked clearly whether he would like to join Manchester United now and not in the past, Mueller, 35, smiled and said, "No, no, no. I'm not the person they need, they're not the club for me. They have their fun, and I have my fun, too."
