Experienced midfielder Jorginho will bid farewell to Arsenal after his contract expires this summer, ending his 11-year European top-flight career.

According to transfer news expert Fabricio Romano, the Italian-Brazilian player reached an agreement with Brazil's top football club Flamengo in January this year, and the two sides will sign a three-year contract.

Previously, Arsenal had agreed to Kieran Tierney to leave the team freely this summer and return to the Celtics. Now, Jorginho has become the second star to leave Arsenal freely.

Jorginho's new boss Flamenco will participate in this summer's FIFA Club World Cup and be in the same group as Jorginho's old club Chelsea. If all the procedures are completed on time, fans will have the opportunity to witness an emotional showdown between Jorginho and his former teammates at Stamford Bridge.

Jorginho, 33, went to Italy to start his career as a player at the age of 15. He debuted in Verona, transferred to Naples in 2014, and quickly proved his strength in Serie A. With his outstanding performance in Naples, Jorginho moved to Chelsea in 2018, where he received the most honors of his career.

While playing for the "Blue Army", Jorginho won the 2020-21 European Champions League championship, as well as the UEFA Super Cup and FIFA Club World Cup championships. He also helped the Italian national team win the 2020 European Cup as a key player, which put him in third place in the 2021 Golden Globes selection, behind Messi and Robert Lewandowski.

Since joining Arsenal in January 2023, although he is no longer in his peak state, Jorginho still demonstrates impressive ball-handling and game-organizing ability. Leaving Emirates Stadium is a natural move for him to seek new challenges in the final stages of his career.

Flamenco currently has a group of high-quality players in the roster, including familiar faces, such as former Manchester City defender Danilo, Alex Sandro, who once played for Juventus, and Carlos Alcaras, who is currently loaned from Everton. The team's head coach is former left-back Philippe Luis, who played for Chelsea and Atletico Madrid.

While letting Jorginho go, Arsenal is actively negotiating with Thomas Paltey, striving to keep him in the team.
