Eze "promoted" to transfer Tottenham, the Gunners may be intercepted

Tottenham Hotspur has received a huge boost in their pursuit of one of the best players in the Premier League. A report claimed the star was ready to turn to Tottenham Hotspurs with a shift away from teams such as Arsenal and Manchester United.

Arsenal and Tottenham, the mortal enemy of North London, were both considered successful in the 2024/25 season. Despite their poor performance in the Premier League, Tottenham won the UEFA Cup, thus qualifying for the Champions League next season. Although Arsenal failed to win the Premier League championship, the league runner-up is enough to show that the Gunners are still moving forward steadily under the leadership of coach Arteta, and they also entered the Champions League semi-finals.

Next season, Tottenham and Arsenal are determined to win important trophys and are both keen to strengthen the roster in this summer's transfer window.

Although Arsenal has no new players yet, Tottenham has announced the permanent signing of Matisse Tel and Kevin Densort, who are from Bayern Munich and Lens respectively. In addition, according to the agreement reached in September 2023, young central defender Luka Vuskovic will also split the team from Hayduke and officially join the team of new coach Thomas Frank.

Crystal Palace's Eberec Eze is another key player that Tottenham is eager to get. According to TEAMtalk's transfer reporter Frazier Fletcher on May 30, Tottenham is preparing to directly contact the termination clause of the attacking midfield contract of up to £68 million.

It is reported that Tottenham has also prepared a "player + cash" transaction plan, but Crystal Palace is currently negotiating a contract renewal with Eze.

It is understood that Manchester United, Newcastle United, Arsenal, Aston Villa and Bayern Munich are all interested in the 26-year-old England international. He scored a winning goal in the FA Cup final in May this year, helping Crystal Palace defeat Manchester City 1-0 to win the championship.

Eze made 43 appearances for Crystal Palace last season, contributing impressive data of 14 goals and 11 assists. In an interview with the Independent in September last year, the team coach Oliver Glasner praised him as an "absolutely top", "always threatening" and "incredible terminator".

Now, TBR reports that Eze himself hopes to transfer to Tottenham this summer.

The report claimed that "one of Frank's top targets, now he is eager to come to North London to join him and is pushing to leave his current club". The report added that Eze "is very eager to transfer to Tottenham."

Although Eze's agent team is "working hard and negotiating with numerous suitors, including Arsenal, Aston Villa and Manchester United", the core of the organization himself hopes to join Tottenham. Tottenham Hotspur is also confident that it will finalize this heavy signing.

Tottenham will miss Real Betis star Johnny Cardoso

Although it would be delighted to learn that Eze wanted to join, the North London club suffered a setback in the pursuit of another target, Johnny Cardoso.

TEAMtalk's transfer reporter Frezer Fletcher once reported on June 3 that Tottenham Hotspur had a "priority rejection clause" against Real Betis midfielder Cardoso.

Although Tottenham were impressed by the US international midfielder's performance, it is reported that the 23-year-old is more inclined to transfer to Atletico Madrid.

Now, transfer expert Fabricio Romano has also updated Cardoso's latest situation.

The Italian journalist reported on social media X that the deal between Atletico Madrid and Betis about the midfielder is about to be finalized.

Romano wrote at 8:59 pm on June 24: "The deal between Johnny Cardoso at Atletico Madrid and Real Betis will be finalized in the next 24 hours."

"The two clubs are finalizing the details of the transfer fee, with a total price of more than 30 million euros."

"This is only a (short) time issue."

However, Tottenham will still benefit from the deal. Reporter Dean Jones revealed on the Ranks FC show: "Spurs won't sign Johnny Cardoso. If he goes somewhere else, they can still get a fee, so they are taking money, not people."
