Hupu, September 26, Dortmund officially announced that it has become the first professional football club in Germany to issue a sustainable development statement in accordance with the EU's "CSRD".

As a team with huge social influence, Dortmund has long been committed to promoting the overall progress of society. In addition, as a listed company, the club also needs to meet special transparency requirements and has continued to carry out sustainable development-related disclosures since the 2016/17 season.

The separate non-financial consolidated report based on CSRD was completed with close cooperation between departments and majors. Marieke Philippi, head of the Office of Corporate Responsibility, said: "We are very pleased that despite the many regulatory challenges and uncertainties, we are still able to provide a CSRD report for the 2024/25 season for the first time."

Dortmund management (Watsk, Thomas Teres, Cramer and Lars Ricken) added in a statement: "Through this initiative, we not only set a new benchmark in club transparency, but also reiterate our commitment to addressing the complex challenges of the present and future."

In addition to compliance disclosures, Dortmund also provides more information to the public on the newly revised official website responsibility and sustainability page (bvb.de/verantwortung), detailing the club's strategic policies, goals, measures and specific actions.
